CLEP does not light when Ignition is turned on?
« on: March 18, 2022, 04:47:25 PM »
Hello and TIA for any trouble shooting Idea's     I have a 2016 Like 200i with only 1400 miles on it.  I was getting it ready for riding season here in Phoenix and although it started, it cranked REALLY slow. So I put my Float Battery charger on overnight.
Now it cranks great, but will not start. I checked the fuses and they are fine. Then I noticed that the CLEP light does not come on when the ignition is turned on.
Any idea's on what that Can Indicate?

Again, TIA!

Hello and welcome, I just went out to check on my 2012 Like to see if this is correct. Is the kill switch in the run position? If it is not the CLEP light does NOT come on. When it is in RUN position it does and the scooter will start. The starter motor will engage in the OFF position but the ECU won't fire the ignition. Check your kill switch!

Yes, I checked and the Kill switch was on. Spring cleaning I think I clicked it. I always use the key to shut it off and forgot the kill switch is a toggle, not a 'momentary' on.....

Operator error, but relieved that my Kymco is ready to go (and even clean!)

And to say it again, Thank you for taking the time to go check yours.   I think I may go run some errands with mine now!!!!!!!!!!
