the nice thing about a Silverado, you can get parts, any part. My mechanic told be to keep mine roadworthy as long as I can,  newer generations are not as reliable

Same situation with the wife’s 2007 Range Rover. Price of them has increased to eye-watering levels, but reliability has gone the other way!  It’s now got 165K miles up which is now about average for its age; it was way above average when we bought it!

my son has a Rover, he's had bad luck with em, first one out 4 wheelin, he hydrolocked the engine, second one got sideswiped, He sporting an X5 Bimmer now

That IS bad luck Randy.

he drove in no problem, the intake was on the high side, this was at end of day of wheelin, going thru water he went thru on the way in. intake was on low side  :'(  Rover parts are not as cheap and plentiful as chevy parts
