Scooter Fell over, running slower
« on: April 05, 2022, 02:58:04 AM »
Hi all! I have a Kymco People S 50cc scooter (2009) which took a fall on its left side for a few seconds last week and shut itself off. Apart from a few superficial scratches the outside looks okay however some fuel did leak out into the storage compartment (but very little).  More importantly, it seems to run slightly slower (I can feel it being held back at 60-65km/hr vs 70km/hr before).  It also does not run as "smooth" when riding and feels generally slower to accelerate

Are there any quick things I can check to make sure there are no other leaks or other issues?

This is my first scooter and I'm new to maintenance work (only did one oil change myself) so any help would be much appreciated thank you in advance!

Hi!
If that is a 4 stroke, I would assume the motor oil flowed to places where it should not be. But it is just a guess by experience from a 4 stroke hoeing machine.

I'd be surprised if he had a 4 stroke 50 going 70kph. (so maybe it's a 2 stroke?)
Need some 50cc smarts to jump in here....!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
