Stator on 2011 Agility 50cc
« on: April 23, 2022, 07:41:31 PM »
All,

I changed my stator out for a new one, but put one not exactly meant for my scooter.

The stator I removed was definitely burnt, so I'm glad I found it.  It had a yellow, white and blue wire to the pickup.  The stator I replaced it with has a yellow wire, white wire, green wire, red wire and bluewire to the pickup.

I thought I could get the new one to work by matching the colored wires I did have, thinking that the green was a ground, and the red one was an accessory 12v.  Once I soldered them all together, shrink wrapped them and tried to start it, it will not spark.  I left the green wire and red wire capped.

Is there a way to make this new stator work?  I can order a replacement stator, but want to use the one I have if possible.

Thanks for the help!

@cic, looks like your spare stator would be from an 2-stroke engine or vice versa. Different charging systems availaible. Change is not easily possible.

The Agility uses a stock Chinese qmb39 engine, and there's only a few different stators made for this engine.  Check out Amazon and eBay, and you'll find a match. The photos should show the wiring provided. You can also find these on Chinese websites. Make sure it's for a qmb39 4-stroke engine, not a 2-stroke. Stators are not expensive (except for Kymco stators)!
