2014 Kymco 700i No Reverse
« on: May 12, 2022, 11:29:17 PM »
My buddy has a 2014 Kymco 700i that recently stopped going in reverse. He said there were no warning signs, it worked, he parked it, and the next time he came out to back it out of his garage it didn't go. Said it acted like it wanted to at first but then he said it didn't pull and describes the sound as a gear on gear clicking sound like it's not fully engaging. Said he looked to make sure shift link was intact and it was but he didn't try adjusting it or anything. He's wanting to sell it for $2500 and I was thinking about buying it since it runs and drives great in forward. Just wondering what you all think it could be and if it would be worth it? Any help is appreciated! Also have a video of what sound it's making if there's a way to share that on here? Thanks

Disconnect the linkage and try shifting at the transmission, linkage might be damaged

You will find a loose pivot bolt when you do what airshot said....
