Weird electrical issue, Like 150i
« on: July 06, 2022, 02:06:51 PM »
Been riding my like 150i more this year and just noticed the other day the voltage on the display is showing 15 volts, which I’ve never seen before (usually would always hover around 14.4-14.1).    So when it is registering 15 volts (sometimes as high as 15.3) the abs light will be partially illuminated.  (I had just finally had the abs recall done recently.).  I can shut the bike off and re start it and it will be back to normal.  Not sure how accurate the voltage reading is but wondering if it’s a voltage regulator issue or something else?  Anyone have something similar happen?

Am not really in ABS systems connected with late model LIKEs.
First I would check voltage at my battery during running motor. Should be not more than 14-14.5 VDC.
More during a longer spell might shoot your battery.
Then, if it's at battery still more than 15V, I would change the regulator/rectifier as a first measure.
Also all connection should be checked for a irregular "ground" somewhere.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Cool thanks.  I was lucky enough to score a new recitfier from scootdynasty. (Been a nightmare getting parts for this thing.). I’ll give that a shot.

Well if anyone comes across this thread with a similar issue…after taking half my scooter apart the only thing I could find amiss was my battery cables were a little loose.  Since tightening, voltages have been normal.  I will update if anything changes.  Knock on wood

Yep, I've seen some strange electrical  things from loose grounds and loose battery cables....gauges and dashboards doing weird things.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
