coolest car you ever owned?
« on: July 09, 2022, 02:23:05 AM »
I had a 1965 Mustang convertible just like this, in green.
I lived in Mass. and never put the top up year around unless it was raining, or I was stationary in heavy snow falling.
Loved that car - kids stole it and took it to Hartford twice....because i never locked it. They'd just cut the top.
They stopped after I saved a local family from a house fire. (not a hero - I just beat on their door and woke them all up)

maybe not 'coolest'...but definitely have the best memories of...my '79 Monte Carlo that was passed down from my older brother. I drove it my Senior Year in High School and also had it for my sophomore year in college.  It had the oddball 4.4 liter (267 cu inch) V8 that GM offered for a few years. It was a smaller bore version of the 305 V8. It made all of 120 hp but had decent torque to move that soft riding machine around.

It was maroon with a white vinyl Landau top. I had the windows tinted limo black in high school..took that off at college. would love to find another one but it seems any survivor has been customized into an air ride equipped low rider!

Pic is not mine but a look alike (except I did not have the wire wheel covers).

My very first car was a 1954 Jaguar XK-120 purchased for $600. Not a great choice for a 16 -year-old but a blast to drive, when it ran; looked pretty much like this one.

Nice car Blue!  Not cool, but the most memorable cars I ever owned was a pale blue Ford Anglia (think Harry Potter and the Weasley's flying car) and the Ford Cortina Mk II 1600cc which I had for about 5 years and travelled all round Europe in.  Sold it at 120,00 miles for more or less what I'd paid for it!
Regards & ride safe,
Neil

After my wife lost her sight in 2002, I traded her car and mine in for a used blue ‘97 Saab 9000 Aero.

Coolest car I ever had was my 1970 Hemi Roadrunner. I paid about $5500.00 for it brand new. It would be worth a fortune today.

My oldest son bought an older silver Audi 4000S from an Australian AirForce pilot leaving Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. Guy was a meticulous owner.
Great little car!

I have a great love for Audis'. That 4000s was a wonderful model along with the original Audi Quattro. I bet he had good luck with that car!

I had a yellow Hindustan Ambassador about 35 years ago....

I loved it!

That's not it in the pic. But, it's almost identical to my old one.

Well, until a lady rear-ended him in a rainstorm.  Ins. declared it totalled. Then he joined the Marines and no longer needed a car for awhile.
