AMSOIL Scooter Oil
« on: July 29, 2022, 11:57:46 PM »

I've used this in my LIKE200I when I could find it.
Service desk recommended it at my original dealership.

I used it for the first 5K miles but later switched to Shell T6 due to better availability and price.

If the dealer recommended it I bet it's considerably more expensive then other brands of synthetics. Motorcycles that share crankcase oil with a wet clutch need a special oil but why would a scooter need a "scooter" oil?

It was the same price as listed by Amsoil....not inexpensive, but seemed like a good way to treat my new $3200  vehicle.
Salesman didn't push it....he simply answered my first scooter question by recommending that I read what Amsoil had to say about this oil.

Because a car isn't designed to be kept in second gear and driven on the freeway. There are a lot of differences between a car engine and a scooter engine, and motorcycle rated oil is designed to compensate for those differences.
Been riding for a very long time.
