Won't take gas until all warmed up
« on: August 07, 2022, 10:28:16 AM »
After a theft I now have my scooter back running again.

I have a small problem, that when I start from cold, I need to be careful with the throttle, so it won't go out.

Also when driving I'm not able to give full throttle before I have been driving for maybe 6 km and the engine is all warned up.

It was never like that before. My first bet was to clean carpurator, but as I understand, it has none since it's electronically full injected, yes?

I will try to check full pump in the tank, but do you have other ideas?

When all warmed up, it runs allmost perfect.

How long was it gone?
What damages can you see?.
A 50, 125 or 163cc LIKE?
Sorry for your troubles.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

It is the same one Ruffus helped with spareparts for Stig.

163ccm, 15000 km, gone for 8 month. No visible mechanical problems apart from a new ignition key set, that should not cause it I think.

I tried to inspect and clean the gasoline filter / and pump in the fuel tank and did see some fine sand like stuff come off the filter. After that tho problem seemed to be fixed, but will test drive more in the coming days.

Jesper, your fuel pump should produce a pressure of around 3 bar.
Will run with less too.
I would first suspect its injector and re-flush it with its own fuel line. You need this pulsing.
There is somewhere described how to do that.

Then do a TPS reset (Throttle Position Sensor) might help to cure. Lots of writing about.

As you said, there was some sediment in your tank, maybe still is and causes this trouble which I personally doubt.

Check again your airfilter and its pipe towards injection chamber for any blockage.

Seems problem is now gone. I did the TPS reset also, but think it was gone before that. Maybe a little longer to respond when i give gas, but hardly noticeable.

I get a 11-code, when i turn key - first one instant red light when turning key, then som seconds off and then one long blink and one short blink. Here it says that means ignitions coil faults.
https://www.bike-parts-kymco.uk/catalog/Workshop-manual/like-200-i-Workshop-manual/page114    (scrool down below images).
- and i did change ignition, but have no problem starting the scoot.

And since riding now seems to be fine, I will probably use Stigs strategy and ignore the blinking :)

Oh - and have gotten many compliments for the red/white look allready, Ruffus :)
