Night Rider
« on: November 20, 2010, 10:24:48 PM »
Installed some accent lighting today.

Should improve my night visibility for riding home in the dark.

One more - bit blurry, but trying to take a picture in the dark without the flash.

Really easy to install and brighter than I had anticipated.

Thanks,

Like I said - much easier to do that I would have thought.

Picked up a kit with all the stuff necessary and it wasn't too expensive either.

Takes a bit of time though - and on the Agility you don't need to take too much of the body apart to do it.  Just the met-in box and the piece right below it.

Feel like I should be out riding around tonight just because I put so much time into it today.

That should make early morning and late night riding a bit nicer!

I'll feel better about being visible to other vehicles.

Of course, now I'm thinking I should have gone with the kit that had 84 lights and two colors...

I really wanted to have some lights shining out from the air intake under the seat.

Oh well, next scoot!

How many lights are on yours? It's pretty bright.

That package has 10 pods with 6 light each, so 60 lights in all.

The other package had the extra 4 pods which could be a different color.  But it cost a lot more - $57 I think, versus the $37 for the kit I purchased.

Not sure where I would have put the extra lights anyway.

That's a well spent $37. Well if that's 60 lights, I can't imagine that fella's scoot that you said had 209 lights on it!

He sure does have a lot of led lights - but the two HID headlights really outshine everything else.

That sounds like the headlight to have then! The headlights on these scoots aren't really very bright.

That's the truth.  I've gone with a halogen replacement and adjusted the bulb, but you still don't get too much distance view.

On the side streets I run with the high beam on the whole way.

I haven't ridden at night, but I've had the scoot outside at night a couple of times and that stock headlight just doesn't seem like it would be enough to make it very safe. That high beam on the side streets is a good idea.

You definitely have a harder time seeing bumps, potholes, etc. if the street lighting isn't that great.

I also wish the headlight moved with the handlebars.

take the front reflecters off and you can bolt fog lights wear the reflecters are at it works
nicely I have some for my scoot . it gives you more light for the pot holes and road kill. and you cam aim theam wear you want.
