Kymco xtown 250i

Hello everyone. I have finally joined after owning a Kymco People S 125 since 2013. I have peek in here over the years to find information and you guys have helped me a lot, thank you!
I loved my People S 125 and did all my own maintence on it and I am not that mechanically inclined.
Recently I retired, sold everything including my kymco and moved to Mexico. I have ordered the X-Town 250i through Kymco Mexico and it will arrive in 20-25 business days.
I am having trouble finding information about the X-Town 250i. They are very popular in Argentina, Middle East, and Asia but not sold in USA, Canada, or UK which makes it hard to find anything in English.
Does anyone here know about this bike? Thank you!

the X Town 300i is still sold in the US so I would assume everything is identical on the bikes except for the motor. Your 250 is likely a smaller bored or shorter stroked version of the 300. As far as maintenance and all electrical, lights, belt, cvt, etc. they should be identical.

Congrats on the new scoot and hope you enjoy your new home in Mexico! What part of Mexico did you move to and how did you decide on that location?

Hi there Can-Mex and welcome to the Forum from another X-Town owner, albeit a 300 in my case.  I take it from the handle you retired from Canada to Mexico?  Interesting choice.  How are the roads in your new locale?

coincidentally, one of my favorite youtube motovloggers, Million Dollar Bogan, is traveling across Mexico on his Harley from Tijuana through Mexico City to Cancun. Last episode had him crossing the mountains, East, from Mexico City toward Cancun. Beautiful, winding 2 lanes but every 2 lane road has speed bumps on it and the toll stops seem to be everywhere (on the 4 lanes). It's highly entertaining.

Hey Neil, thanks. The roads in town are not to bad, certainly not like back home. They can be cobble stone or concrete or asphalt. Speed bumps everywhere,  some are built up quite high and drive over them and some are like a line of upside-down metal caps. The drainage is very poor so when it rains huge puddles form in low spots. I've only observed this so far, not yet actually driving the roads as my new kymco is on order. I am dying to get it and hit the roads. Of course it will be a learning curve figuring out the "rules" here. I better have my head on a swivel, it looks a little crazy when I've taken some cabs around town.

If the roads are as rough as that, did you look at the DTX350 before opting for the X-Town? Think I’d have been tempted or is it N/A in Mexico 🇲🇽?

Hey Neil, the DTX350 is not offered through Kymco Mexico. The next size up is the Xciting S400 and then AK 550i. I picked the Xtown 250i because a majority of my driving will be in the city and feel it's small enough to maneuver around. But big enough to go on the highways. It seems to me the 250 is the exact same bike as the 300 minus not having ABS brakes and turn signals in the mirrors. Correct me if I am wrong, thanks.

Be amazed if you are wrong on that!  Kymco are past masters at sharing whatever they can throughout the model range!  As Stig said, probably just a slightly sleeved down and/or possibly shorter stroked 300! (which is actually 276cc)

Neil I got to know one thing, have you added any accessories to your xtown? I would like to personalize mine in some way, not going to bedazzled it. Lol. I will want a top case to hold a few things.

      I also have a X-Town 300i ABS. I added a Puig 6790H windshield (higher than stock), Shad SH34 top case w/light, Converted the headlights to LEDS, installed new LED running lights where the European turn signals were, GPS mounting bracket, installed a second 12-volt accessory plug on the console (for GPS), and a Iridium spark plug. I will soon be installing lighter Dr. Pulley sliders for better acceleration.

Good that Mike has beaten me to the draw here CanMex as he has the most modded X-Town that I'm aware of on here and has already provided me with the supplier he used for his very neat SatNav bracket!  (Currently languishing in my garage awaiting fitting!)  The only thing of note I've done so far - apart from ditching the OEM Kendas for Michelin City Grip 2's and fitting a Givi Top Case - was to swap the OEM rear shocks for YSS aftermarket items*.  End of the month I'm planning on having my seat professionally modified chasing better long distance comfort.

Tell me Mike, how do you rate the mirrors as fitted?  Originally, all I could see was my shoulders!  I ended up having to fit extenders to get a decent field of vision.
