Locals mark the end of summer here at Indian Lake with a Ring of Fire....around this big lake, Sunday, 9pm Labor Day w/e.
Apparently this is adopted from a tradition of the Seneca Indians - who built fires around their Lake.
The lake shore is across the street from our rental...so at 9 pm we stepped out in the light rain...and they did indeed light the shoreline!
I suspect the Senecas were giving thanks for a summer of good hunting, or a good harvest.......rather than celebrating the start of the NFL season🙃
