A most courteous driver...in a beater.
« on: September 15, 2022, 06:33:08 PM »
Coming home shortly after sun-up this morning I was following a lightly smoking little Chevy.
I noticed only the right rear light worked.

His lone brake light came on, down rolled his window and out came his full arm - making stabbing motions with his index finger. (like poking someone in the chest :) )

I got it!
"I'm making a left turn!" he was telling me.

I laughed. Tooted my horn 3 times and waved - thanking him/her for their considerate driving!

my orange tinted Philips is clearly visible here.

but not so much, here.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I use hand signals regularly when I drive my UXV540i on the street, I have a "special commercial" registration, a discretionary on the registrar if she thinks you qualify, (limited to agricultural and commercial, I got it as a land surveyor) only equipment needed is a mirror, and tractor triangle, don't even need a windshield

I know the signals, but I'm not sure the drivers I'm signaling do, 90% of the time, they don't use their own signals

Ah hand signals. A dying art here too I’m afraid. Bet most drivers under 50 haven’t a clue about them.
