NSR: relegated to the back seat
« on: September 18, 2022, 10:19:41 PM »
.... .. low marks on my last 'check ride'??

Wife and daughter and I went into Yellow Springs this warm sunny Sunday - therefore, so did a most of neighboring Ohio!
The ladies had coffee-like drinks from Dino's (real coffee for me)....and pizza from the fabled Ha-Ha Pizza (as seen on the Letterman show -via Chappelle's T-shirts) Actually, my morning coffee club friend, B.J., recently sold it to a local mother/daughter combo.

I said, "let's give them a try."
We ate outside - in town. It was fabulous! (don't tell B.J. - who ran it for the past 15 or so years - but things had been sliding after COVID)

Some snaps....
This guy was hilarious - his bushy beard was blowing up into his face like a pillow-case!

These 2 rode into Y.S. ahead of us. I think the one on the left was a scooter? The guy on the right shifted with his foot - looked like a Honda cub-like bike?

Lots of bikes parked in town - and a bunch are always cruising back and forth through the village's main drag....all 3 blocks of it! :)

View from my Group W bench...

Where I used to sit with my coffee and scooter......then they took my furniture away!

OK....!

Stopped at Young's Dairy for ice cream. (the largest privately owned entertainment center in Ohio....$19.70 for 3 cups of ice cream- 6 scoops total)....yeah, I go every decade!
Today an extra few 1,000 were there for "Wool Gathering" festival...and ice cream.

I saw this young lady ride into Young's wearing black leather from head to toe.
She will now begin to  r o a s t.

Daughter proceeded to drive me home at just under the speed of sound....

I'm certain she appreciated all my driving tips today.....

Expensive but enjoyed their ice cream. I was working at AFRL in 2003-5. Traveled from my home in VA to Dayton each Monday through Thursday and some of the locals told my fellow travelers about this place. A couple time each summer a group of us went their after dinner for desert. Well worth the drive.

I find it's best to take a nap in the back seat

I've agreed to the back seat twice in the past few decades.  I sit back there alternating between fighting the seat belt, hyperventilating and/or sharing my driving tips🙃
