Kymco super 8 2014 Headlight Issues
« on: September 26, 2022, 12:09:07 AM »
Can Anyone kindly help me with the headlight issue of kymco super 8 2014 model. After I start the bike and put the normal headlights on it stays on and after 2 seconds as i rav the bike and start to ride, it goes off completely. tried restarting and etc etc same thing.

I have read few posts in this forum, and thought i will post here to get some idea to get it fixed. I saw some threads saying it is an issue with the Light control module(LCM), if there is any experts can you please help me fix it kindly please.

Also if anyone may have a video of how to fix it please send to me or post on youtube and send link please.

Thankyou very much.

the lighting control module will dim your headlights when your scoot is at idle and return them to full brightness when you rev up. Does this sound accurate for your bike? If so, you have a scoot with this odd feature. You can order a replacement from Kymco, if necessary, but I'd probably look at all the wiring, first, to be sure you don't have something loose, corroded, shorting, etc..

Are any other lights affected?

I dont suspect anything may be loose, this seems to be kind of a common issues with this model, some people has written a bypass way of this way and such, but not sure how exactly is done. every other light is working fine.

to re confirms the issue,  when I start the bike, put the headligt on, it stays on, and when i rev the bike the headlight brightens up and in a couple of seconds goes off entirely. so this is the issue.

below are some other peoples post on same issue

Riding home Tuesday night, I hit my high beams. After about 3 or 4 seconds, my headlights completely shut off! When I switched back to low beams, still nothing!  >:(
When I stopped though, the dim mode came back on. As soon as I started moving again, they shut down again!
So I turned the scoot off for a few seconds, hoping the system might reset, and it worked! My low beams were working normal again. I tried the high beams again, and it all shut off again.
