That should explain it - sound like you just need to unplug one of the wires.  So no need to cut which is great because you can always plug it back in.

Hard to tell from your pictures, but are some of the wires pink?

Derestricting the cdi will give you some extra revs, but not make a huge difference.  And Rianna is right, just pull out one of the pink wires - don't cut anything.

You really need to derestrict the drive boss to give you that extra top end.

You are humorous so I will humor you. Okay here is what you can do. You can Grab the wire in your hand and move your hand to the end of the wire and look at the end to see how it is connected. Then you can decide how to disconnect it on your scoot. Let's start with that.

You'll probably need a small blade of some type of get in there and pop the wire out.

A small blade flat screwdriver would do it - but in your case a small knife is probably more your style.

Just slip the end of the wire out of the connector and tape it off (the wire that is).
