"oil change due 12/03/2019" ~!
« on: November 11, 2022, 02:03:27 PM »
We inherited a 2016 Chevy Equinox with 19,000 miles on the odo. The car been parked in a garage for a couple of years.
I finally got it back on the road this past week, with a new battery - and when I cleaned the windows yesterday I saw the windshield sticker which indicated that it was due for an oil and filter change nearly 3 years ago, Dec 3, 2019.
Youtubed the oil change and see that this thing uses a cartridge filter within the engine bay - rather than a spin-on below the engine....like my Burgman!
And that the oil is going to launch sideways when I pull the drain plug. Come on chevy - what's that all about!? Silverado is the same way.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

It's the gift that carries on giving, that Chevvy!  If you plan on doing the oil change yourself, get someone to take us a photo at the moment the plug comes off, the entertainment value should be immense lol.
Regards & ride safe,
Neil

greatest oil change tool ever invented...the magnetic drain plug remover! Never drop a plug in your oil pan or get hot oil on your hands, ever again. Best $10 you can spend. (crack plug open with your ratchet/socket, give it a few turns then grab it with this tool and spin it off)
