My Ford car is gear manual. I don't like manual change. But here automatic gearing it is very expensive. There are a few models. When I worked at the United States all the cars I rented were automatic. I loved that. Big and automatic cars. Woohoo!!

This is one more reason why I like my automatic scooter... 

Every car is produced as automatic or shifter... practically every car.

I don't think so. Depending on the country it can be very difficult or expensive to get an automatic car.
Here, for example, you can find only automatics on the big one's models; and, of course, expensive one's., in most cases, over 30.000 euros.

Smart, Peugeot 107, 1007, Citroen C1, Swift, small Kias and Hyundais, Fiat 500, they all come equipped with automatic transmission.
Most small passenger cars have automatic transmission in them, also at not-that-much extra cost.

Btw. the car that costs here 30.000 EUR would cost 15.000 EUR in USA... that is the real problem. Not lack of automatic transmission cars or their inherent price.

For the price of 500 cc scoot in my country you can practically buy Kawasaki Ninja 14-R or Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 cc...

It really depends.  I have one of each.  If I am riding around town or the local countryside I love my Kymco scooter. Love not shifting...  Lighter weight.  If I am heading out on vacation across the country, I will be riding 2 up pulling a trailer with camping gear.  In that case I prefer the Goldwing, especially if I have to run across the central US such as Kansas and I want to make time on the interstate.  Plug my iPod into the sound system, set the cruise, relax and make some miles.  One interesting observation.  The GW1800 gets 42 mpg, two up pulling a trailer.  The X500 gets 45 to 50, not the significant difference I thought I would get at first.  I love em both and ride the one that fits the ride.   I agree with the quickness off the line.  Since the scooters don't have to shift they will run all over the motorcycles stop light to stop light. (That is barring some nutcase on a sportbike that really wants to push it and speedshift... and even then it can be fun messing with them.)

We have to be realistic about this thing that is often repeated on forums.

You will start faster with a scoot only versus similar motorcycle or somebody who is not even trying to start fast.

Almost every 90-100 hp bike does 60+ km/h in 1st gear in around 3 seconds and such a bike is faster than any scooter, including 800 cc 2-cyl Aprilia GP800.

And that is not even a sports bike...

I don't know what country your in, or how they ride motorcycles over there. You will get your ass handed to you if you try and beat a motorcycle with a scooter off the line here in the US.
I dont own a sport bike but my VMAX will hit 0-60 in under 3 seconds and thats not even shifting into 2nd. Some and most of the larger sport bikes are capable of 90MPH in 1st gear.
But again you can get 2 night and day performance results with the same motorcycle.
Fastest scooter I have seen runs 0-85MPH in 6.8 seconds..

Look up, three posts before you I wrote the same thing.

However, it is quite possible that you can be faster than certain motorcycles from one to another stop light... and most cars.

You can drive off with a scoot (250/500 cc) quite effortlessly while the car would have to rev very high and possibly spin off the wheels.

With smaller bikes, it takes quite some time to shift and those declared numbers (3-4 secs 0-100 km/h) are hard to achieve.
The bigger the bike, the harder - or you will get a serious wheelie.

However, claiming that 50 or 125 cc scoot is always faster than cars/bikes can be true if cars/bikes are not even trying.

GP 800 is the fastest scoot declared at 5.4 secs 0-100 and I can tell you that with most nakeds you will do 5.4 even though they are declared to 3.5-4... however, GP 800 is not exactly your average scoot...

The 325cc is the (original) diesel engine (7hp). He got 2 bikes (for him and his wife).
Newer (for Euro3 emission and in Germany more common) versions had a stronger 460cc Diesel (11hp) which could "catapult" this bike to nearly 100kph (official 99kph and 1.8 litre/100km in NEFZ cycle).

Why would somebody do something like that to themselves?!? 180 kgs and 6 hp?!? Are they into S/M, bondage etc., masochists?

Why not?
They have a lot of bikes and tractors, perhaps 20-25. But all quite old (at least technically). And some cars (at most 3 cylinder).
Imho their slowest is a Lanz-Bulldog with 5 litre displacement single cylinder. 20kph fast!

I just got my first scooter (Super 8 150).  I've owned many motorcycles.  Overall I prefer motorcycles but for running around town a scooter makes more sense and is more fun.  As for Automatic Vs manual Transmission.  Take two identical vehicles (scooter, motorcycle, car or truck), one maual and one auto, and the manual will outperform the auto almost every time- better acceleration, fuel mileage, and better control of the vehicle.  This is especially true if the vehicle has a small high reving engine.  In case of a very high performance vehicle, it may take a skilled operator to get the extra performance out of a manual. 

One more thing, here in the US, there is a very limited selection of small displacement motorcycles, even 500cc is usually considered a beginners bike.  I have owned motorcycles up to 1200cc.  Overall, I think small bikes are more fun.  There is a much better selection of small scooters available here than small motorcycles.
