Thanks Dean. So far, so good.

I’ve only managed a couple of 25 mile rides this week owing to poor weather and domestic demands, but I’m getting close to being run in so that concern should be behind me this week.  Then the next item will be first service time. At which point I think. I need to get the heated grips I forgot to specify before collecting it 😖

Does the manual mention procedures for breaking in the engine?
Max revs, then increasing, varying engine speeds?
The max revs on the Burgman would get you run over! We all complained!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I’ll check the manual Stig. I’m going by what the salesman said, for the first 300 kms don’t exceed 50 mph and don’t labour the engine at constant rpm. I’ve done just over 200 miles now so I’ve seen the odd 60+ mph now during overtakes and I’m not stressing over it. As another scooter owner commented, how can you over rev a CVT anyway?

Talking about overtakes, feels considerably safer than the X-Town as the midrange acceleration is noticeably better on the DTX.

Nice looking bike Neil.  Congrats.

Thanks.  Just approaching the first service.  Couple of minor issues with my new DTX320 have surfaced.  On riding it today, both the Engine Management Light & the ABS orange lights remained lit; also, the TCS light comes and goes from green to orange where it should be off once you ride off?

Unrelated, but another matter concerns the engine surging at low, almost tick over speeds.  May be FI related?  It’s unnoticeable at speed, but, makes low speed maneuvering very troublesome!

I’m within 100 miles of it being due for its first service so I've asked the shop to book it in and check these issues at the same time as the service.  I'll keep you all posted.

Update:  Just rang the shop and they've volunteered to come and collect the scooter to save me hanging around while they look at it!  Now that's what I call after sales service!

Will do Hawk, fortunately the scooter is still ride-able so not prevented from scootering at the moment I'm glad to say!

OK, bit of an update also posted on the DT300 sub head. DTX360 went in for 1st service yesterday and this morning (at 07:30 hrs!) I received this:

“ Good morning, Ref your bike , the electrical system has been over charging, we have been in discussions with kymco technical, new control units have been dispatched as quickly as possible, new dashboard has also been ordered but is a non stock item but this will not affect you using the vehicle , I will update you on parts delivery as soon as we know , Workshop , Richardsons of Congleton”

Checked and they’ve confirmed that once the controls are fitted I can ride the scooter while we wait delivery of the new dashboard.

I’ll keep you posted.

Neil

Just back from a quick 20 mile shakedown ride and delighted to say the DTX360 is now performing faultlessly again!  Thanks to all at the Workshop for  getting it back to normal.  I'd missed riding it so it really is appreciated.

Further reports as and when I have something of note to add.

Yes good to hear. The local dealer treats me fairly. Just bought a helmet for the same price as on-line, and could try it on for fit and no waiting for delivery and worry about the package being lifted off the front porch.

You’re right guys, I always reckon if you’re quick to complain when things go wrong, you should be twice as quick to acknowledge excellent service when you get it. The guys did good and I’m happy to tell all and sundry 😀
