Mirrors: not great. They look good and give a clear view … of my elbows!  I really have to twist my body to see what is going on behind me!

Above From OP.  I've had the Oxford mirror extenders on my garage shelf for a month plus now so I decided to fit 'em this morning.  Not used in anger yet, but sitting on in the garage they look to be as effective as the ones that I fitted on my X-Town and they worked.  These also look a bit better aesthetically and after a bit of fiddling accepted the OEM rubber cuffs at the base of the stem.  Test ride later so if there are any issues* I'll post back here.

* Edit:  First ride reveals a slightly raised level of vibration on the mirror image, but this is not so apparent as to outweigh the benefits of a vastly improved field of vision.  So, money well spent.

That looks nearly stock, with the knees and elbows of the original set-up.
Getting the mirrors right is critical to a guy like me.....poking along at 35mph.

Too right Stig!  At whatever speed, a good rearward view is essential for safe riding.

I’ve spent too long making do by shifting my shoulders to get a decent view behind so it’ll be good not to have to undertake those contortions 😂

The other morning, I was thinking again how easy it is to keep track of traffic when riding in the dark ....because of their headlights. Can't remember the last time I was taken unawares when riding in the dark.

Cars in the dark? = easy….gravel, oil, sand, pot holes, rodents in the dark? = not so easy!

Another first impression.  For the first time since getting the DTX, I was out on it last night after dark and I was mightily impressed with the power and spread of the headlamps both on dip and on main beam!  Easily the best of any scooter I have owned and I can't, off hand, think of a motorcycle I've owned with a better nighttime front beam.  Hats off to Kymco.

Agreed. How Yamaha got the 2017 XMax so wrong in this important aspect, I'll never understand so it's nice to have my faith restored in scooter lights by Kymco.

So true.  My X-Town was good, but the DTX is in a whole different league.

The twin halogens in my Burgman 400 were superb headlights! (they were twin DRL's as well!...and, at nearly 500lbs,  it had the plushest ride!)

My Liberty with it's 55/60W single halogen bulb proved to me how good a headlight can be when properly designed!

Some rarely ride at night.

Since 2013 each of my rides starts in the dark! (2,3,4 times a week - year around, incl. Ohio winters)....

Even though my top speed in the dark is never more than 35mph (unless I've chosen the State Rt at 55mph) lighting is still a big deal with me.
Sometimes I'm passed out in the country by a fellow on a large sport bike. He is flying in the dark! and I worry about him here in deer country!

 I would never out run my headlights unless I was on an limited access interstate highway, and I only did that on my Forza and Burgman.

You're right Stig, that Liberty headlamp is a doozie if that photo's anything to go by!  Next time I'm out after my bedtime, I'll try and take a similar shot for you to see.
