Thanks for the support (as always)!

It was the battery. I charged it again (and again) and then it didn't start at all - even with a full battery.
I now bought a brand-new original kymco battery (i think the manufacturer is Yuasa) and the Yager starts w/o any problems. I was travelling over the weekend and it started last night immediately.
I will check the cables and generator (esp. the generator was already mentioned to me before) and update.

Kymco's do seem to be very sensitive to a healthy battery for "on the button" starts!...

As Neil writes, later KYMCO i models deem to be seriousely miffed if they don't have their required voltage.

We were able to cure several scoots which were suffering from "start hickups" by adding new batteries or changing to LiFePo4 products, especially the infamous XCiting 500 Ri.
