Warranty Transfer
« on: March 09, 2023, 01:00:21 PM »
Well I have run into the silence at KYMCO USA that others have written about. The 2022 XTown that I bought with 113 miles on it has 18 months of warranty left. My local KYMCO dealer tells me that I have to call KYMCO USA to start the transfer process. No one answers the phone at any of the extensions that I called and I haven't received a reply to an inquiry on their website contact page. I am sending a registered letter with copies of both the original bill of sale and bill of sale from my purchase. It will include the VIN, my name and address. Can anyone suggest anything else to do to get their attention? Thanks...Rob

Yes, the KYMCO warranty is fully transferable.
Please let us know how KymcoUSA responses to your letter.

Sure wish we had a local forum member, who could drive by Spartanburg and knock on the door.....

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Did you try the Technical Department? I was getting silence until I did that and ended up getting results talking with Eric in that department.

I tried all the numbers. Leave a message was all I got. I did send the request with the necessary information to a contact page on the website. A letter with attachments was also sent by fax and a traceable original via the USPS. In the end, if it is transferable, it is the VIN that is warrantied, not a person. At least that is what I think. Thanks for the help. I report what happens...Rob

Do you have a copy of the warranty? I haven't read a recent Kymco warranty.
With my 2013 LIKE200i the engine was 2 years, other areas were stepped down.
Hopefully - your scooter came with all the proper paper-work - warranty pages, owner's manual?
