Rear fork oil seal?

Hi guys I'm doing some maintenance to my beloved People Gti. I didn't know there was an oil seal on the rear part of the rear fork. I don't understand: does it seal from transmission oil? It works only in case of leaks or it's a fundamental part and it's better to replace it anyway? To me seems a dust seal more probably. Can you help me? Thank you very much

@Faber32, good to read again of you.

This oilseals (there are two) on your swingarm act, to protect one of your REAR wheel bearings which houses within this mentioned part.
It does NOT protect your scoots gear from loosing oil.
Dimensions are  30-40-7 mm and 30-48-7mm, both are standart metric oilseals, inexpensive and easy to replace. And yes, take new ones.

Thank you! A lot of dirt has fallen inside, between the seal and the bearing. I'll try to remove it but it's not easy. So it's a seal protecting from grease?
On the rear axle I found grease, is it better to put there antiseize or lithium grease?

Hmmh, its a seal protecting a bearing from water, dirt and other stuff.
For the axle: best would be a dry lube, but hard to get. Put some antiseize  and it'l be fine. Not too much, for it collects dirt again.

Thank you. I hope I didn't damage anything because the rear fork was quite hard to remove and I wiggled by hand. I didn't have a puller of the right size. I won't replace the seal, it doesn't seem a part that fundamental to me.

Well, those KYMCO engineers, as most of us engineers, might have had a good reason why they put two oilseals there.
It's under certain conditions a very exposed place to collect dust, salt and other things which just wait to grind down your wheelbearing.

  Usually I'm OCD about these things, what I meant is that I don't think it could have been damaged during unmounting of the wheel, and it has only 7 years of life. If it was an oil seal I'd replace it no question at all, but probably it's fine to keep it there. But I'll call the dealer to see if it has it ready to sell 

I could replace only the internal one, the other (with code LLB1) can be replaced only if I remove the bearing, right?

Both can be replaced WITHOUT removing the bearing.
If your dealer does not have them, just go to a industrial shop where they sell bearings, vehicle hydraulic parts and stuff like that.
Measures are mentioned.

Your wheels axle is a part of your gear, means if this bearing blocks by any means your scooters axle and part of your gear will be demaged.
A gear repair is not inexpensive, if all parts are available on short notice.
With a little bit of bad luck this part will take a few month to reach your dealer.

Thank you very much. I'll read everything carefully.  Today I noticed a longitudinal play in the rear axle. It can move of about 1 mm in and out. Seemed strange to me, I don't know if it's normal. I also have the doubt that the swing arm is inserted all the way in, but I checked for rear wheel play and it's not present so I suppose it's fine.

There's play in the wheel if I turn it forward and back. Do you think gear is gone? I'll read your links

Longitudinal play of that much is tolerable. Now it comes your wheelbearing, which sits in your swingarm, into play. Keeps your wheel on its place when in good shape.
