Happened to check my LIKE's service pages and discovered that my rear Michelin Power Pure tire is not as new as I imagined.
back from the Vespa dealer - look at that beauty! March 2017
Same tire, today - 6 years and 9,800 miles later!
0 issues with the side wall.
Called the local mega store dealer (where I bought my LIKE in 2013) $107 to do the tire swap on the scooter
(1 hour shop labor) - $102 for a new Michelin City Grip 2. Must buy tire there (this is a new policy - and I don't blame them)
I'm leaning towards handing them the scooter and a new exhaust gasket and having them do the work.
When I had 440 miles on the scooter I had them swap out both scary Kendas for my pair of new City Grips. (paid @ $110 for the pair of tires, @ $135 for the installation on my scooter. They did a fine job)
that wheel off day, my first ever! did let me get in there and clean the back of the motor, clean and paint the muffler, get a new bearing installed at the Vespa dealer who did the tire swap ($35). Biggest headache was the rear fender (tire hugger!)
