Fried relay Rectifier

Came across a breakdown yesterday as I was fueling up. So I was on my way to the gas station and as I arrived not fifty feet from the pump I noticed that my gas gauge jumped from "E" to below "E". It almost looked like it does when the gauge was off. Thinking nothing of it I pumped my gas and went inside to pay. When I got out and went to start up the bike, Nothing. No power, No gas gauge. Absolutely nothing. The first culprit I suspected was the Fuse. I had spare fuses but unfortunately for me, they were at home. I ended up contacting my mother ( we all live in the same vicinity) who took me to get the spare fuses I had at home. My brother stayed at the gas station and watched the scooter until we returned. Put in a new fuse, turned the ignition on and the wires started to get hot and the metal inside the fuse started to twist before eventually breaking. Something was definitely wrong. Time for a Tow, >:( Good thing I have roadside assistance on my motorcycle policy.

It took forever for the tow truck driver to arrive, the breakdown occurred at around 7:30 and he did not get to the fuel station until 9:00 Then to top it off we decided to get a random Thunderstorm. I waited with my mother in her Car untill he arrive and I assisted the towtruck driver  with loading it up on the truck Didn't get home until around ten at night. By that time I was too tired to even find out what was wrong. Not to mention I had just worked an eight-hour shift. Debated about calling off work since I was mentally exhausted. So I did, I took a mental health day to recoupe and  to find out what really  went wrong.

I picked up some fuses at Autozone and dug into what went wrong. Using a multimeter I checked every wire for continuity and luckily for me there were no shorts and all wires were not broken or pinched after I took almost every body pannel off . When I opened the front fairing was when I was hit with a whiff of Burning plastic :-\. I inspected everything and found out that there was a burnt contact on the relay rectifier. I'm assuming that something inside it fused together which was causing my main fuse to constantly blow . Last night before I went to bed I ordered a new part out of suspension and am expecting delivery of it tomorrow. The question is why would this happen if my charging system is working correctly? Let me know what you think.

I do believe the prevous owner used an aftermarket Unit because  the words TRKIMAL appear on the lower bottem of the rectifier instead of the Kymco Insigna.
