« on: December 05, 2010, 01:15:23 AM »
Hi friends,

Hello from Spain.

I am the owner of an Kymco Scooter  called Super Dink 125i
it is the same model that the Downtown, Nikita or DinkStreet. These aredifferent namoes for the same model, depending on the country of sale.

Please excuse me if my english is not very good.

I doubt something: Because I don't see my model or similar, I would like to know whereshould be better for me to post.

Can you help me, please??  ;D

Welcome to the forum Kiki

Can't say I know if any of the models listed on the board are equivalent to your scoot.

I would post your question either in the technical section or the general section.  Doesn't really matter which, people will read it and help out if they can.

Post away!

Here the url for the service manual - although it is in English:

www.scribd.com/doc/34893998/Kymco-Downtown-125i-EN

I was trying to figure out what the various scooters under that name were called in different parts of the world and came across it.

Hi, Kiki and welcome!  ;)  Mostly we think Kymco is a very good machine.  ;D  Yes, we'd love to see a picture of your scooter.

Welcome KiKi glad to have you with us.  That is a very sharp scoot.

We love pics, especially of you favorite rides.

BTW where are you in Spain?  I shot in Barcelona for a couple of weeks during the 92 Olympics.  What an amazing city.

Again, welcome! ;D

Hi Kiki!

A Downtown sub-forum has already been requested. Don't know, why we still have none.
And please send pics from scooting in Spain!

Hi Kiki. Welcome to the forum. I was stationed at Torejone Air Base outside Madrid back in the '60's. Your English is better than my Spanish.

Wow! me too. jeje.  I was a subofficer at the combat 12 wing, with phantoms F4. I was electronician (is this the word??) we fixed radars, radios, everything at those wonderful planes....
It was between the last 70's and the earlys 80's
Do you remember the 'oasis' shop and restaurant??    I tried my first hamburger there....  very good, of course... I was eighteen...

A few days ago, I passed near the base. I told my wife I had to go to see the base inside again. I don't know if should be possible....  I'll ask , and if I can enter, I'll take pictures for you and for me.

Yes, it was 3:00 am. I need many time to do everything I have to do. I have a lot of hobbies. One of them it is to scoot. Other one  it is the photography.

I live at a big city called Alcorcón, near Madrid, at the center of Spain.  Torrejón base is also close to Madrid.

Yoy  can see my city at google maps.

This is a picture of my scooter, one of my two sons, and of myself:

Very nice looking scoots.

Nothing wrong with being up at 3:00 am, used to do that all the time back in the day.

And I bet you have nice weather to ride in too.

Beats the cold and very windy stuff we're dealing with on the East Coast.

Wow Kiki, this internet makes it a small world. I was about 23 years old when I was at Torrejon and it was a three year tour. I was an enlisted man as a weather equipment repairman. We maintained all the electronic weather monitoring equipment for wind, cloud height, visibility, temperature and humidity. The weather baloon equipment was ours also. Our shop was on the flight line when I got there, and later moved next to the parachute shop. I don't remember the oasis shop. Is that the restaurant near the control tower? It's been a long time. The pictures you said you might take would be interesting. I looked on google for a sattelite view just to see if the base is there, and indeed it is. I enjoyed my stay in Spain but did miss home after a while. Madrid is a fascinating city. When I was in my 20's, unfortunately I occupied my time doing things young men tend to do if you know what I mean. Today, if I visited Madrid, I would have more grown up priorities. LOL
