Opening The Coolant Access Panel
« on: April 23, 2023, 09:01:39 PM »
Hi. I feel like an idiot as I can’t open/remove the radiator filler cap access panel above the level window on my People 250 S. I’ve removed the screw but feel like I’m going to break the hatch or severely scratch the metallic paint trying to lever it open with a screw driver etc

@Phil65, welcome here.
Don't worry, spray some WD around this little hatch to soften sticky parts in between. Let it soak awhile then pry with something like a thin spatula there. Has a latch on one side.
Maybe give us a feedback.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Plastic pry tools used for car interior panels (c$5 a set) would be ideal?

Regards & ride safe,
Neil

Thanks guys. I realised today that I could push  it from the inside by putting my had through the fairing past the front forks . Eventually opened after a few attempts

Good work and thanks for the update.  Consider applying a little grease or oil to plastic parts to help the snap back into place.
