Keihin Main Jets
« on: December 07, 2010, 04:09:57 AM »
Colder weather, and I want to fatten up the Main Jet on my scoot.

Anyone know where to get my hands on a 90 or larger Main Jet for a Keihin for this 2005 People 50cc 2 Stroke?

Thanks-

jetsrus.com is a good place.

They have a $7.49 flat shipping rate so you might want to load up on some different size jets in case you want to do some experimenting.

My 2005 People 50cc 2 stroke has a Keihin carb.

I pulled the Main and the Pilot jet, and got out the micometer.

According to my measurements these are the series jets that will fit.

MAIN JET
OVERALL LENGTH = 7mm
HEAD DIAMETER = 5mm
THREAD MAJOR DIAMETER = 3.9mm
KEIHIN 99101-116

PILOT JET
OVERALL LENGTH = 28mm
HEAD DIAMETER = 5mm
THREAD DIAMETER = 4.9mm
KEIHIN N424-74C

These are availbale at the following web site.

http://www.jetsrus.com/FAQ_identify_that_jet.htm

I hope this helps anyone looking to re-jet your bike!

Damn, I've gotta rejet too.

This cold air is killing my speed - taking a bunch off the top end.

Time for a bigger jet....

The real problem is it's too cold outside to work on the scoot!

But yes, I really need to get at it - if it gets any colder I'll be pushing the scoot up the hills.

23 degrees here today, oswaldters...brrrrr...too cold for outdoors work now! I reckon next year I'll know to get around to it earlier.

It's supposed to get into the teens next week.

This cold has knocked a good 5mph off my top end.  And it's only going to get colder.

OH, Man...that lost 5mph means you'll be out in the cold longer! You need to get them jets swapped!!

So much for the folks that said we'd have a mild winter on the east coast this year. It's already looking like a bitter one and it's not even officially winter yet! (21 degrees now :'( )

Wow...the teens...I feel for y'all everyday riders in those temps!! Hope Santa brings y'all some extra long johns this year! :D

21 degrees now

That doesn't help, nor does the 25mph wind from the north.

I think a bunch of us will be looking at upping the size of our main jets.

I know that's right!

I reckon I'm just outta luck this year, though. I got sidetracked and didn't get around to it soon enough. There's just no way I can do it outdoors now. Next year I'll plan ahead. I'll have some proper riding gear and some jets ready for my 2nd winter with the scoot...unless I move south before then that is.

No heated garage? Simple, an old blanket roll her up into the living room! Ahhh the smell of fresh gas and coffee in the morning watching the morning news!

I like your thinking Yankee -

I'm not allowed to bring the scoot inside (wife doesn't roll that way).

However, if I happen to be off work next Friday and nobody is here....

makes me wonder,iIf a scoot get a bigger jet in the living room and the wife isn't there to see it, does it make a sound?  ;D

Sh*t, lankeeyankee, you tellin' on me now...you know she's sitting in my living room now on an old corrugated shipping box I cut open! :D

My arthritis don't like this cold weather no way...that's why I plan to move south again this coming year. ;)
