Trailer hitch for scoots/motorcycles

Similar but A LOT more massive to handle the stresses of higher speeds than what a bicycle can go.

That "bicycle" is about 4 inches long! The wheels are about1.2" diameter! I did the hitch toy size to see if it would work.

I do see that the section from the axle to the pivot is essentially a universal joint in function. I've seen mc hitches using an actual universal joint for mono-wheeled trailers.

Me, too. I was looking for a way to avoid heavy additions to the tow bike structure which rules out one wheel trailers.

We had a couple of those over the years! But we did use them on bicycles! Similar idea....for the hitch.

As an engineer I get immedeately an itch to invent something like that.
For this project I would use/abuse a MotoGuzzis or BMWs cardanic driveshaft.

Good starting point on the right-hand end for the single plane pivot!
