Is Something Wrong?
« on: December 07, 2010, 04:23:50 AM »
I've got about 1300miles on my S200. Wide open throttle on flat ground with my 220 lbs on board the speedometer indicates 60mph. Based on my research that means either I have a rare accurate speedometer or my top end is less than most since most are getting 65 or so indicated and GPS verified 60. If my speedometer is typically optimistic, my top speed is only around 55.

I get lost in all the miles and kilometers. I can't really say if something is wrong, but I do know that the speedometers are known to be inaccurate.

60 or so GPS is about all it gets.

At 1300 miles your scoot is not really broken in yet, so you might do a little better down the road. But not much. It might top out at 57 or 58 GPS. Some folks on this board have done all kinds of things to try to increase the top end, but all have pretty much failed. The issue may be with the gear ratios, as the acceleration is quite strong.

I put 14g sliders into the variator, and nothing changed. 60 or so seems to be it on this bike.

My SYM HD 200 OTOH does 73 GPS no problem.

Sounds like it's working to expectation then. I'm quite satisfied with it.
