a 50 cc is a piece of cake! 300 cc is a red-faced sweat!

I'll bet. I was impressed at 125cc.

Above photo of why I'm never inclined to ignore the replacement schedule for the belt.
Our smaller Kymcos have OEM belts at a very reasonable price.
Bigger, more expensive scooters....expect parts to cost more.

This belt went 46k. What's the replacement schedule? 20-30k?

Replacement schedule is in your owners manual usually.
