there was an old jail museum at the edge of the town square in Lynchburg that was a chackpoint to that's we we gathered there to watch the scooters come through.  Unfortunately, when the route was laid out they didn't know there would be a festival going on in Lynchburg and getting to and from the checkpoint could be a little chaotic!  I took a bunch of pics.

This couple was riding together, Husband on a B200 and wife on an Smax.  She ended up finishing 2nd and he finished 5th.  The differenc ein standing was due to the B200 having a higher handicap than the Smax.  Shew won the previous cannonball.

This guy finished 10th on a beat up old SH150.  He was second last time on a Super Cub.

This Buddy Kick125 finished 12th.

Big Ruckus.

They shut down the streets for a while for a tractor parade.

Klav, do they check for engine modifications? Some of those bikes and get some decent HP gains from small mods, like different rollers, bigger variator, or better exhaust system. Also they can do engine swaps, which are difficult to spot unless you know what you arelooking for. Just curious, because when I was in Rome, a lot of young people would do swaps to get around the law...go figure...

Engine mods are allowed but you have to report the actual bore and stroke of the engine.  the handicap is based on bore, stroke and age of the scooter.  keep in mind that this is a grueling ride and mods often make the scooter less reliable.  One guy had an aftermarket variator and it failed.  He replaced it with a stock one then the belt failed.  It was probably damaged by the aftermarket variator.  I would not make any crazy mods.  Maybe different rollers or sliders and an aux fuel tank.  Last time there was a Like 150i with bored out engine that finished pretty well.

For me:
Anyone that has not driven an original VW Beetle or ridden on an original Honda 50 Cub.
Anyone that did not rush to see what Little Orphan Annie did this week in the Sunday newspaper.
Anyone who has never read a real newspaper.

never had a cub 50, first bike was a Honda Super 90, and first car was a 40hp bug
