There seem to be a few really successful stadium tours at the moment with tales of tickets on the resale market fetching 4 figure sums! I guess the cost of living crisis is not spread that evenly?
As a pair of 18yr olds, married at noon that day - for a wedding present our friends pooled their $ and we all went to see Joan Baez in concert at UCLA that evening. December 2, 1967.
As a group, we hadn't much $ - a friend made the cake - the flowers might have been borrowed from a yard, the dress and the ring ($11, with a diamond 'chip'!) were from a local antique store.
We all walked to the wedding. For transportation, Coco borrowed her mom's gold T-Bird convertible and Wednesday drove his old VW.
We had great seats, and the concert was superb!
I think minimum wage was @ $1.60 in SoCal, 1967.
Ticket prices ranged from $1.50 to $5.50 to see this folk music celebrity, second only to Dylan.Stig
