Kymco AK550 - Noodoe Problem
« on: July 16, 2023, 11:39:06 PM »
Hello !

Just joined this forum so I can ask for hell regarding my problem.

A few weeks back I took my Kymco AK550 to annual service and they replaced 12V battery. After that, my noodoe stoped working. Looks like textures are missing and there are no pictures/texts. (See pictures in attachment).

When I try to update to latests Noodoe version from the app, it just won’t update. When transfer is complete, sometimes when i turn off the ignition the update animation will start and end in a few minutes and sometimes it just won’t show the updating animation. Even when animation is shown and I wait for it to finish, the noodoe won’t update and when I turn on scooter it will still show the old version 😕

It’s funny that the transfer progress shown on display is shown without a problem and it’s not distorted.

Any help would be appreciated.

That looks like a problem with the computer that controls the Noodoe on the bike. Possibly caused by something that the dealer did while replacing the battery but that really should not have happened.

Does the phone app show everything as it should?
Does the phone app show the proper installed (on your profile page under "Creations").
Did that update progress bar on the bike display go all the way to 100%

at 72 years old, I have been able to avoid cell phones my entire life, wanna call me, I got a phone  with a copper wire attached to it at home. No desire to get a phone, however, I would like to utilize my Noodoe and considering getting a used phone with no sim card.

As it is now, I have to take my AK550 to the dealer to set the clock, apparently using a Noodoe app is the only way to set it ?

Yes. The clock is updated every time the cell phone connects to the bike.

I'll be 70 in a few months. I didn't really have a lot of choice in avoiding a cell phone. It was needed for work. I actually had one of those brick cell phones for my on-site computer repair visits way back in 1993-94! Being in a computer technical career didn't leave me much choice so here I am.

as a land surveyor, cell phone have been popular since the bricks that came in bags, I grew up in a phone company family, I was 1st generation that didn't go into the family business, my dad had phone in his company truck, then car, back in the early 1960's. A mobile phone was a big ass unit, limited towers (but much higher wattage than anything today)
I have just avoided them, well not completely, my former business partner and I had a Nextel plan for a short time, we never used them more than 10 minutes a month, and some months zero, I admit, more often, the Nextel walkie-talkie feature, but that was almost always receiving a call from a particular contractor that could have waited as I didn't have access to my files unless I was in my office

I wish Kymco made a windows Noodoe app, I have a handheld Windows Mobile data collector https://www.ruggedpcreview.com/3_handhelds_trimble_ranger_3.html
