Spade: LED headlight?
« on: July 30, 2023, 05:58:57 AM »
I think I need to replace the headlight, or at least the bulb.
Any suggestions/recommendations? LED maybe?

Thanks in advance.

Reply to myself, just in case someone were to find this info useful in the future:
Did it. At first tried a $19 LED bulb, but it wasn't bright enough, and the difference between low and high beams wasn't as noticeable (or useful) as I would have expected. Then bit the bullet and ordered an Audexen headlight (there are cheaper ones, but I liked the design of this one better). Pretty happy with it. Photos added below.
Thank you all for your suggestions reading  :P ;D

Ride safe.

glad it worked out for you. Suggesting led bulbs seems to be hit or miss...one person may love a bulb while another will hate it.

I put a super bright led bulb in my Honda Helix..but I don't ride at night so I don't care what the nighttime beam spread is..I am concerned only with making myself as visible as possible in the daytime.

A nightime rider may hate my bulb...see the challenge, here, of recommending bulbs?

Will you show us some pics of your new bulb and light pattern?

Apologies for the long delay on posting the photos, but just a few days ago I took a couple, so here they are: https://photos.app.goo.gl/S8d9HQGLxoLy8Ciw9

Are those before and after or low and high? Lots of light!

Sorry, I thought I had edited my last posting. Unfortunately I don't have any 'before' photos showing the pattern or the coverage. The ones I posted are low and high. Yes, significantly more light than with the halogen one!
Here is the link again with a couple additional photos and info about the LED I got.

I'm sure there are other even better LED headlights, but this was the one I liked the most.

Ride safe!
