D'oh! Busted helmet holder
« on: August 13, 2023, 11:04:42 PM »
Yeah, like it says, I busted one of the helmet holder pins.  :'(

Another lesson learned. I expected there to be some reinforcement there, but it's just plastic. A little too much pressure, and "snap."

If you have been trusting these to secure your helmet - don't put much faith in them.

On my Piaggio, Honda, Suzuki and Kymco scooters the helmet pins were all plastic.
I carry a small key-lock plastic coated steel cable to use through D-rings, or chin strap loops.
I can 'lock' down my jacket and helmet with one.
If it's very cold outside - I just keep the helmet on :)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
