Kymco ViSaR 125cc cutting out!

Hi All,

First time poster here.

I bought a 2020 Kymco ViSaR 125 just over a month ago with 600 miles on it. A lot of that time has been spent in the garage trying to find what fault makes it keep cutting out!

The mechanic has serviced it, tank emptied and cleaned (air valve cleaned), injector cleaned, various wiring checked over, all which helped improve the intervals between cutting out. Plus it’s passed the first MOT - not engine management light cam on and it didn’t cut out.

Sometimes it cuts out every few hundred metres other times it runs perfectly.

Anyone had similar experience and found the cause/cure.

Any help would be appreciated, because I’m getting really fed up with it now.

Does it cut out and totally stop for a while?
Or “splutter”?
If works fine then doesn’t- it suggests a loose electrical or intermittent fuel problem.
I assume its not happening only when the engine is hot, or only when raining….nothing like that?

Is there a gas tap involved? Use only reserve for a while with a full tank, and use only “on” for a while with full tank….or pull the tube feed from tank to check flow.

Clean the fuel filter/replace

Check your spark plug is in tight & connector on plug is tight
Checkyour ground cable on tight

The engine emergency stop switch- trace tge wires back and short it out so it’s permanently connected and see if that helps.

Good luck- intermittent faults are rough! ( buy some beer and a pizza and get a biker buddy over and just go through everything!)

Good question....if another owner had and solved the same issue!
Was it a Kymco mechanic who checked it, and could not find the problem?
