Way to go Bats. I kind of have mixed feelings about going thru the roof on cc's. It is super cool to build up, but the reliabilty falls too fast. Putting in a 125 engine, and tweaking that is a more reliable way to go. Just my opinion.

That's some real good points for sure....
I like the idea of tweaking a 125...lol...
(i actually have a honda aero 125 a.c. 2t engine tha does run but it wasnt getting what honda said it should/would in mph)(i thought of IT but the engine parts are/could be hell. It has a 13mm wrist pin!)
I'd like to try that engine in a way...lol

Oh yeah, A 76cc isn't TOOO bad toward reliability... You should have 73.4cc with the kit you mentioned. ;) :D ::)

The kit is sold as a 72cc. It should be here tomorrow, and tom. night will be trippi'n again

Correct, but with the stroke of the oem crank you will have 73.8cc when it's done..(i bo-bo'd in my last post)
My 70 kit, when i was done came to 71.8cc

Surely you're not going to "plug and play"..... Better check those timings....LMAO

No Doubt. I will only take 1/2 hr. or so (timings that is) My cases have been done from the git. I would only get the crank if my used one had a home so it will be a 2-3 hr. job all said, and done. (bearings/seals/jug). I can do this one blindfolded.

What going on guys?..  Seems to be a bit slack in these parts lately... :D
Well, i think the time is here for me to get to rebuild my zx and FINALLY,HOPEFULLY ::) add my 7" extension but i am having a time trying to decide which route to go. I'd love some input..  maaaaybe sid will come back and chime in also.
As some know from the pics you see, my crank is broke in half.(dam, did i post em here too???????? ::))
If not i can to show...
Anyway i HAVE to have a crank regardless.. SO, should i get a oem again or upsize a bit to a 44mm.
I am looking at 4 kits right now...1). is from carlos(48mm)....2). is a "riuma" brand(47mm)....3). is from "jiangwayne"(48mm) and 4). is also from "jiangwayne" but a 50mm.
A 47 kit with oem crank would end up @ 71.8.......with a 44mm crank @ 74
A 48 kit with oem crank would end up @ 73.8.......with a 44mm crank @ 76
BUT i wonder what sort of trouble the 44 would end up being on the port timings???????(the 47 kit i had did require a spacer,a lil work to get my target numbers)
The 50mm kit would really need the 44 crank to get the most out of it i'm sure(a 50 on a oem crank may be a huge battle?) So that should end up being a 80-83cc. A baby stroker. I'm thinking the reliability, etc. wouldnt be hurt to bad, not like actually STROKING it out to a 122-125. Now THAT, would be aweswome but then you'd have to rebuild every cpl thounsand miles i'd say..
There is only a $50 difference in going either 70-72 vs going 80-83...
So, has anybody have any input on the "riuma" brand or kits from carlos(sids did seem to be good) or "jiangwayne"(z went missing on us sgain...lol)
Or about the extra 4cc from the crank.. Only a $10 difference in price there. 4cc for $10 sounds good to me. :D
Any input is greatly appreciated. Should i stick with 70 or go ahead and see whats in store on the other side?...

Go the 44mm crank!
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

Hey sid, it's good to hear from you..
Did you happen to do any timing/duration numbers with the kit your running now?. This is on my mind with the 44 crank on a 47-48mm kit
I remember you had a FIT with the 50 kit on the oem crank..
Of course i do like the idea of the 50 with a 44 crank. Then she'd be 80-82?cc vs the (47mm)72-(48mm)74cc AND being only about a $20-30 difference in total price

I did put the degree wheel on with the 47mm cyl and 44mm crank, I just don't know where I wrote the results, I think I did post them on here somewhere. If I can find the paper I wrote them on, I will post them again.

Just had a look in my zx50 build,,,again. thread and it seems that my exhaust was 188° duration and boost and trans. ports were 130° duration.

WOW.. Hey sid, thanks for checking that. You didnt even do any port work on the cylinder either did you?...ie; widen exhaust port, champher the ports?...I was afraid the numbers would be all "over the board"....

No, I wasn't game enough, besides, I don't have any tools to do that with.

The numbers seemed to be right there, so that was a good thing there....
I was hoping z would come back to get his input on the jiangwayne kit. :-\
