closest I've come to dropping a scooter

Pulling into this parking lot to adjust my gear - mistook the street curb for one of the 2 entrances....being somewhat blinded by a following car's headlights in my mirrors.
Managed to stop just short of hitting & falling over the curb!
Area was darker than it appears here....
