CV3 Questions
« on: November 15, 2023, 04:28:39 PM »
I am thinking about getting one.  I have read they are a bit cramped for tall people.  I am 6 ft - would it be cramped for me?  How is acceleration since it is a very heavy machine?  I am an experienced rider and have owned mostly sportbikes (currently riding a BMW S1000XR) but my first bike was a 2009 Yamaha TMax.  I have fond memories of it and am thinking about going back to a maxi scooter for the long distance comfort and handling.  Would I be disappointed after owning high performance bikes?  An AK 550 would be an option but cruise control is a non negotiable option for me and the AK doesn't have it.  Any info is most appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Already saw your questions in the other thread and I am certain anyone else reading has as well.
I'm not directly familiar with the CV3 but I do have the AK 550 from which it is somewhat based. I would think ergonomics would be very similar.
What matters a lot is your inseam. That will determine the leg/knee room. Your height minus inseam will help to determine your reach to the grips.

I am a 32 inch inseam and have plenty of space for my legs/knees/feet. Even some extra space. I have a short waist and total out to 5 ft 9 inches. My arms are very relaxed reaching the grips and I can tend to have even a little extra reach to the grips depending how I'm sitting on the saddle. When I press back into the saddle my arms can extend a bit straighter to the grips and my knees can almost go straight when my feet are on the slanted foot board.

You being 6 ft tall should be fine if the ergonomics are the very same on the CV3. IOW, not cramped IMO. But the only way to really know is to sit on one if possible. I would say that about any bike anyway since there is so much variance between riders and bikes. I rode a BMW S1000R as a loaner while my bike was at the shop once. I felt incredibly cramped on that one. It was like my knees were being shoved into my chest compared to what I am accustomed to.

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I would like to sit on one first but the closest dealer with one in stock is an almost 6 hr drive away.  That is the dealer in Sanford, NC.  There are a couple of dealers closer to me (I'm in east Tennessee near Knoxville) but they don't have any in stock.  The BMW S1000XR that I ride is a bit more relaxed than the S1000R you rode.  Same engine, different layout.  Again thanks and I'll just have to be patient and wait until I have a chance to test ride one.

Maybe you can find an AK 550 a bit closer and test sit on that. I do think they are both very similar.
