YAGER/GRAND DINK 150 fork and waterpump change

A week ago an other traffic partner thought it would be a good idea to turn left without stopping, taking my right of way, I was going straight and crashed frontal in his side.

 Fortunately only material demage, as is:
-front mudguard in shards (took used one, repainted)
-windshield broken
(a new FACO came)
-RH indicator broken
(used one taken)
-fork bent, see comparison old/new in vise
 (used one installed, pls see pics)
-front plastic cover broken on several places
(I welded, reinforced and repainted)

As I had the scoot on the bench already, a drop of coolant from this telltale hole said "waterpump service".
(pls see pics)

At this 150cc motor it is NOT neccessary to remove the stator shield! Oil and coolant have to be drained.
Waterpump has its own housing and comes off easily.
-to seperate the pump housing drive a bolt M6x40 into this drain hole, gently pry lid and housing apart
(pls see pics)
-service kit comes with new bearings, o-ring, spring coil and new , also ceramic, gasket/s.
-white, ringshaped part is this ceramic gasket
-waterpump wheel has LEFTHAND TREAD!!

WARNING: this waterpump repair requires special tools like, several sizes of longneck bearing extractors of internal type. Without those it is impossible to rebuilt this waterpump because bearings and impeller potty are clued in.

My opponent was reasonable and payed without lamenting for parts and labour.
All in all, if I wouldn't have done this repair on my own, the scoot would be totaled. Spare parts (new) and labour would be double the  scoots value.

Ruffus, glad you were not hurt in your accident. Nice work with the scoot. I'm starting the think there is nothing you can't fix!

Do you have any more pics of the scoot? Before and after plastic repairs?

I'd echo Hawk there Ruffus, so glad you came off that encounter with only damage to the scoot!  Metal and plastic can be fixed, we are not so parts-interchangable!

Very few pics only because my phone was demaged too. So I changed it, tried to do all transfer on my own and lost a great deal of pics and data...

@Iahawk, this ABS plastic is very easy to weld with a soldering iron (30 W enough), inbedding of metal flyscreen at brims recommandet. For filling holes (small ones) I used broken off latches from scoot. Melts and meshes easily. On top spray plastic filler, sanding and respray (pls see pics).
Painting got sloppy because of temps, did outside not to mess up my workshop.

Grand Dink is back on duty!
Would be a shame a nearly new, MJ 2003, to dispose.

My concern in this case,  the frame which holds this steering column, could be bent aside a few degrees, was not given.
So, fork and wheel are straight and running well.
Particularely with new brake pads😉.

I had, for I got a FACO windshield instead of my previous GIVI, to mount scoots original flap-ear mirrors again. GIVI had an additional brace which allowed mirrors on screen.
This FACO screen is 4.5mm thick and pretty stable. No vibration or flapping during riding.
And with €82,- about twenty euros cheaper than GIVI here in Italy. (pls see pics)

All over a three days work to change, weld and paint all of it. Difference of color to be seen on plastic parts, but this metallic paints are hard to match and apply for layman.
