Scooter won't start
« on: November 25, 2023, 09:16:05 PM »
Hello,

I am having trouble getting my 200i started, I have looked through other post but still am a bit stuck.

I just got a brand new battery, so know that works..

When I turn the key you can hear the fuel going through the scooter, but there is zero sounds when I push the starter. The lights and horn works, but no sound or clicking after turning on the "kill switch" and turning on. I've held one break, both break handles but still nothing!
I also can't find if there is a safety switch that I may have accidentally hit?

Any advice where to start is appreciated!

Thank you,

did you fully charge your new battery before trying to use it? New batteries generally need to be charged up before use.

Were you having trouble starting it before the new battery?

I did fully charge the battery after I brought it home right after buying, sorry I forgot to mention that!

I thought it was the battery, but the fuel was going and lights were on before I got the new one. I just thought it wasn't holding so I got a new one.

I'm not sure what comes next in checking for the start button, spark plugs? relay? I am super new to this!
Thank you for your help

Need info....
Is this a new scooter purchased from a  dealer?
No?
Has it sat unused?
Last ran?
Age, mileage.
So no sound when you hit start button....no sound other than fuel pump priming??
Meanwhile...might take a close look at those fuses by the battery.
Tell us more of its history please.

@rookiescooter welcome here!
Standart procedure in this case is:

-kill switch on ON?
-cables tight on battery?
-both glass fuses intact?(renew)
-brake lights working when handles pulled?
-spray WD 40 into RH switch modul

-METIN box out
-check fat plus to starter and minus cable to motorblock for rotten connectors
-jump cables from a  car battery (no need to run motor) new battery does NOT mean good battery
-LIKE starts  YES/NO

-NO?
-bridge starter relay with pliers and gloves
-plus and minus from jump cables direct to starter motor
Pls try and come back for Qs!
