Kymco Xciting S 400i 21 plate - speedo stops at 70MPH
« on: December 04, 2023, 10:46:01 AM »
Hi all,

New here, notice there is no subfolder for the 400i, so hope you don't mind if I post here.

I am struggling to get hold of Kymco for some advise, hoping you can help or maybe you already know the answer (hope so).

I have a Kymco Xciting S 400i 21 plate, my center speedo stops registering at 70mph, is there a setting I need to stop it doing it? I have made sure the bike is on the latest firmware.

The left hand screen still shows the speed (but it is that inaccurate dial thing) but 74 still shows as 70, you look down at the clock and think your OK but then realise your speed has crept up and your nearer 80, it's darned annoying. It's gotta be some sort of limit or even a bug but I don't know what it is, drop to 69 and it shows 69, 68 67 etc, it's as though it cannot display after 70MPH.

Any Xciting owners knwo what is going on?

Have to say is a super bike, just put an Arrow exhaust on, sounds wonderful.

Welcome to the Forum Pitt and yes, that'd annoy me too!

I've never had an Xciting, but there are a few owners on here so hopefully one of them will be along shortly to let you know from their experience.  If not, have you found any fb groups for the 400 Xciting?
Regards & ride safe,
Neil

Thanks,
Yes I have put it on FB but nothing, the silence from Kymco is troubling!

Local Kymco dealer tech?
I would not waste too many dimes phoning  KYMCOUSA. But then GM doesn't take my questions about my Silverado either.

I had a 2018 Kymco Xciting 400 and never had an issue with the speedo. I was able to get it up to almost 100 mph. Then again this wasn't the S model and it was sold in the american market. Maybe there is a glitch in the unit itself. My brand new AK550 came with a faulty starter switch, so anything is possible...
