[Solved]Starting issue
« on: December 15, 2023, 08:15:01 PM »
Good day.
My x500 won't to start.
I recharge battery, riding 1-2 days and problem appear again: While press starter button, Voltage drop lower than 12v, and scooter cannot start.
But with Bosch charger, battery have no problem  ???
Look like forum, this is stator error?

As @CROSSBOLT would say, "oldy moldy story" of this XC 500.
This scoot (if 500i model) needs a very healthy battery to get alive. A weak or demaged batt will not fire your scoot up.
(pls see link)

I changed from lead battery to LiFePo4 batteries on all my scoots and bikes, no probs since then to make them run.

Should this battery be a new, healthy one, then
- check whether enough voltage is put out from your regulator before you get to your stator

Proc: start motor, check with a multimeter voltage arriving at your battery at 4000 rpm (~14+VDC)
-less than that indicates  a faulty regulator on most cases...
Pls check this and come back for more.

Yes, I plug voltage monitor into "cell phone socket", and while motor turned on show ~13v.

Buy an inexpensive multimeter and read voltage at plus and minus battery terminals. At your cell phone socket you might have not the true values.

Definitely not a "stator error" - sounds like an old battery.
