I saw the partn number but there is mentioned about a modification to use that filter because it is not shaped as stock filter.

As far as I know there is no after market filter that is an exact fit replacement for these scooters.  Some owners replace the paper in their stock filter with foam.  Others do the modification like Arkie_Rider did.

I  cut the old paper ( and boy is it thick paper) out of a stock filter and replaced it with a section of a K&N filter from  another vehicle which fit the Stock filter body. Cant remember which vehicle the K&N filter was supposed to fit . if you need this info I can back track and find it ..the replacement section has to be glued in with a polyurethane based glue which will bond to the OEM filter body

That DNA looks good, just like a K&N. Would we have to rejet to use this filter? I have a Leo Vinc on my 2007 X500 now, and it spit's a little when you back off on the throttle to idle speeds.  I know it's a little lean now. So I know I need to go up 1 main jet size, but would this new filter require that I go up 2 sizes?   :-*

EFIALTIS, could you explain how you modified the exisiting one with foam?
If you cut out the paper, how did you manage to put foam in there without false air?

Yes, but keep in mind that you will only need to clean the filter about every 50,000 miles or so if they are like the K&N filter's? And they last forever. Last filter you will ever buy. Also, I think the stock Kymco is about $40.00 bucks now? I just changed mine not long ago, but I am going to get a K&N style next time. And I think since I have a Leo Vinci exhaust I will need to go up a main jet by 1 or 2 sizes? :-*
