Photos of 1st trip to dealer 2024
« on: January 23, 2024, 07:42:21 PM »
I swing by my dealer about twice a year - or less.
Was at my credit union nearby - so thought, 'what the heck!'
The salesman was excited to see someone over by the scooters - and rushed out a new ADV for me to sit on -
"Hmmm?".... I bottomed that 'off-road-capable-suspension' as soon as I sat and bounced ever so gently! (Not so the Trail Honda)
Probably just need to wind up that pretty shock back there?

I spent most of my time looking at and sitting a pair of other Hondas.
The new Trail and a Cub.
I noted that I have plenty of knee room on both the Trail and the Cub - more than on my LIKE200i and much more than on my Forza 300 yrs ago.
As always - impressed with the fit & finish of the Hondas!

Too bad about the matte paint on the ADV and the 2 big Kymcos.

The Cub has a rear drum brake - the Trail a disc back there.

One cool thing about my dealer is his collection of vintage bikes up there on the wall!

Talking with a middle-aged salesman - he has a Agility 125. We agreed that scoot is probably the VW Beetle of the whole Kymco line. Hard to kill it.

Stig

I'd prefer the red Trail ....and the Blue/Red/White Cub. He said he could dealer trade of them!

Nice pictures as always, Stig! Tell me, Tom: doncha just love the aroma of a bike shop? New stuff, especially stuff with engines and tires, wings, sails or tracks have that "aroma" of adventure! Or maintenance...whichever comes first! Har, har!

I didn't see any snowmobiles. But he had yhe biggest Sea-Doos I've ever seen. Giant off road things, big 3 wheel things, very few used bikes.

A 200 Suzuki,  and a nice clean 300 bike.

Yes Karl, there are areas of this big showroom where a thrown dime wouldn't reach the floor. Jackets, gloves, helmets, service liquids by brand of motorcycle, etc. Then back through the rear doors you pass through an canyon of 1,000s of tires to reach the service bay in this large building.
This time of year the parts counter is vacant, 2 old guys in offices, one salesman on the floor. I imagine things are busier back in the service area.
If they closed, there isn't a multi brand shop for 45 miles that will touch either of my non-Honda scooters!
Son and I have purchased 4 bikes from them over the past 10 yrs.
They famously don't deal on the MSRP.
Whatever....they've been there a long time.
Because both my scooters have been bullet proof, with easy DIY...I rarely need their shop. RR tires on my rims is about all I need them for.
The smell in there is interesting!!!

Cool snowmobile (snow machine?) pics!

Can you push one of those around the same way you can push a bike?

Great photos Randy!
Those things are expensive!
Probably why I see so few around here with are limited snow falls.

State has a good trail system if we have enough snow, my next door neighbor has a groomer, I can get on a maintained trail within 500 feet of my property
But, we don't always get enuf snow to make it worth while, a 3 hour trip north to Rangely Maine gets you into good snow

not in my budget, I'd sooner get a hole in the water, the ice always melts and we got plenty of good lakes locally

noticed your comments on the Honda super cub and trail 125's. I have the supercub 125 2021 and thinks it great. once you get used to the auto clutch its a blast! also benefits from getting 125 mpg! I purchased it because of the good reviews and ease of maintenance, so far, everything I read about it is true. the enclosed drive chain is also a good idea. plan on riding a lot more this year so time will tell. funny thing is, I don't see many out there for as many sold.

Don't mean to be nosey.....but I guess I will, anyway.
I have to think I'm too big for a Cub right?....at not quite 6'4"  255lbs.
I'm too big aren't I?....not the first time I wished I wws 5'9"  or 10 & 165lbs!
Wonder if new owners are putting them in their living room as keepsakes,!? I'd be tempted....
What color did you get?

Speaking as someone who owned a 125cc Honda and is roughly in your ball park weight-wise Stig, I'd guess you too would struggle to get the little Cub up hills!  Shame as they do look great.
