Kymco Yeager / Dink 200I Vario topspeed...
« on: June 27, 2024, 08:43:10 AM »
Hi Guys,

Breaking in again for a moment :D After the rebuilding adventure from the Dink 200 previous year I used it on a lot  on regular basis, much more than my other bikes because handles so easy in busy traffic.

But another question, the previous owner told me the scooter is equipped now with an Malossi vario/clutch. The original was also coming with the scooter.

The scooter is pulling up pretty good but the top speed is lacking a bit, even there is still enough power left. With 120km/h the RPM limiter is coming in, so the max speed on the highway is arround 105km/h on the right lane.

What will be the best way to increase top speed?

sounds about right for a top speed....did you previously have a higher top speed and it has gotten slower over time? Or you just wish it had a higher top speed?

I bought the scooter with a damaged engine, so I have no idea what the original top speed was before. I am reading different things on the internet about the top speed from this scooter, going from 105km/h up to 120km/h and more.

For me it is a long time ago I was doing things with scooters and changing rollers and so on.

For now I think that because of the Malossi vario in combination with lighter rollers(?) the top speed is decreased. Probably I will soon have a look what the weight is from the rollers that are inside now...

Your top speed has decreased.....has your in-town acceleration increased?
Seems to be the way it goes with roller weights?....but I'm no expert. Some claim higher top speed AND better acceleration when playing with weights.  Which makes me wonder why scooter manufacturers are so dumb.

That value sounds about right.  You'd be around 8500 rpm correct?
