here's what an unmolested LIKE200iLX looks like

what year? Doesn't matter. They never changed anything except for the paint and decals scheme during its approx. 10 yr model run.

The LX was $100 more than the base model. A few chromed bits, piping on the seat, 2-color paint.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Styling cues unashamedly Lambretta-esque?

Neil, I was going to ask which specific classic scooter this was styled after?  I wasn't sure if it was Vespa or Lambretta?...Lambretta pic attached.

Good looking scooter, either way.

repost from 2022.....

The LIKE200i was designed in Italy by Massimo Zaniboni

His first rendering of our LIKE as submitted to KYMCO @ 2008.

BELOW: the body style as they came into production in 2009.
Obviously his assignment was to draw a scooter which was reminiscent of Lambrettas and Vespas. (it has been said that the LIKE looks like it could be their kid :)
The 50cc version preceded the 163cc "200i" in N. America. South America, Asia and Europe were getting 125cc versions. Not sure when Europe was finally able to buy the 163cc model.
Twin f/r disc brakes w/braided lines provide amazing & easily modulated stopping power. Instant all-weather starts with EFI. Air/cooled trouble-free simplicity. The battery is under the floor and the tank is under the seat. It is also very easy to service!

The sleek little 1997 People came from his pen.

Massimo also worked on designs for Italjet, Moto Guzzi, Suzuki, Piaggio, and on various Kymcos - among others.

If I remember correctly Blue - mine is a May 2012, purchased new summer of 2013. (nope April 2012)
Good scooters!
I was signing the papers on a red one - when I discovered the LX parked over by the helmets. ""Hold it!. I want this one over here!"
Did not care that it was $100 more.
