2021 450i UXV
« on: July 27, 2024, 07:16:36 PM »
I purchased this side by side not running. The guy I bought it from used it on his farm. He washed it and it never started again. The seller replace the fuel pump and tilt sensor. He gave up after that. I bought it, put a new battery in it with same results.  It had a PO240 on the display,  but after I changed the battery,  the code was not displayed any longer. I have no spark or fuel. Fuses are good. Any other ideas?

Welcome to the forum Dbezet!

No idea here how much you paid for this non-runner, but would it be more economical and less agro to have a Kymco dealer take a look at it?
I know that is a unusual response on a helping forum - but sometimes...?
Just a thought.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I'd check for a soaked air filter, as well as any relays

I have a 2015, beat the crap out of it, resides outdoors in the weather, I've rolled it on it's side, used it in temps from -30° to 95°. been more reliable than any other vehicle I own

There are no dealers in my area. I paid next to nothing for this side by side. I purchased as a project. There are a few aftermarket shops, but didn't want to get into someone just changing parts. I have done a good inspection of wiring harness. Checked out all relays.

Well, check..
-kill switch (no spark, no fuel)
-open RH switch, connect blue and white cable
Start?
-check brake switches (light on when brake applied)
-jump start cables from a car or similar
Start?
-hear you fuel pump work with ignition on?

I understand the fear of parts swappers, your issue is diagnosis and something simple once you find it

Sorry for the typo. It was a PO230 code on the display when I got it.
When you turn key on, no fuel pump noise or pressure.

Ignition switch tested fine. I have one relay that I can't figure out. It is a 3 pronged D421 small looking relay. Can someone tell me what this controls? Also, when you turn on ignition switch, it sends power to the fuel pump for one second and then power drops off.

Try to interchange relais to make your fuelpump running.
Relais are inexpensive, renew them all to 20 A.
Fuelpump out and benchtesting after/ during heating up with a heatgun.
