My new Can-Am Ryker Rally

Last week I got a new (2023) Can-Am Ryker Rally. It's a 900cc 3 wheeler and has a CVT to a shaft drive. The controls are a throttle and one brake pedal. No hand levers at all.

Awesome buy! I've always thought those had a sort of 'Mad Maxx', hooligan vibe about them. Couple questions - it seems like it would be pretty quick with a 900cc motor? How is the steering effort with bars and 2 front wheels? and finally...how do you avoid potholes??

I would love to read a ride report after you've put a few miles on it.

It's very quick! I have done a few accidental burn outs taking off from a red light. Had up to 70MPH on the highway and it was nowhere near max throttle. It supposedly has a top speed of just over 100MPH but I will probably never see it.

As far as the steering goes, it is a little more effort that a bike, but I'm getting used to it. A 2 wheel bike leans to the inside of the curve and you lean with it also to the inside The trike wants to lean to the outside of the curve and you have to lean against it to the inside. Definitely have to take the turns slower.

Potholes and road debris are a lot harder to avoid. If you can't go left or right around it you can try to aim so it is just inside one of the front wheels so it misses both the front and back wheels. I do end up rolling over more things than I do with my People.

My local mega-brand dealer has 4 Kymcos (550, 4-wheeler and 2 Vitality 50's) and a slew of these 3 wheelers. Big and small.

They must be popular around here - for he keeps his stock thinned to sellers only.

never been on a CanAm, I had the opportunity once to go for a ride in a Campagna T-Rex, you want to be wearing seat belts when it's doing a 1.4g corner

I have one really steep & twisty section to navigate every coffee ride - this morning some kind of one of these 3-wheelers came around the corner at me.
It had about 6 rectangular LEDs on the front - and two riders all in black w/helmets.
That's all I saw as we passed each other in the gloom of the overhanging trees..
Oh, yeah - the lady(?) in the back waved to me.
